Founder’s Story

Our founder, Mitul Goti, grew up in an Indian traditional family. He never got to explore cooking as it is also normal in Indian culture that boys don’t learn cooking. In his early 20s, he went to Germany to pursue his master’s degree. In his initial phase, he being a vegetarian faced many challenges regarding food in everyday life. However, he overcame the challenges and learned to cook over time. He even found an interest in and enjoyed cooking. He learned to cook Indian, Italian, and some other cuisines. After his marriage, his wife took over the kitchen but he couldn’t stay away from cooking. His wife was cooking Indian dishes whereas he cooked Italian cuisines like Pasta, Pizza, Bruschetta, and delicious Risotto with Pumpkin. Fortunately, Tübingen was a vegan-friendly city across Germany where they lived. Therefore, there were multiple options to eat outside at takeaway shops. They often relished a bite of mouthwatering Falafel in their outings. They developed the blended taste of European food over time but it wasn’t fully transformed as they ate Indian food at home regularly. So, the foods other than Falafel weren’t always pleasing. In different situations, frequently, neither of them was in the mood to cook nor did they want to eat outside. In such situations, they cooked “Plain Khichadi” simply to fill their stomach. But it didn’t always satisfy. One day, a similar situation arose, they were watching a movie with a starving stomach. He got an idea! How cool it would be if someone cooks in the neighborhood and he can have it! Here starts his journey of entrepreneurship. He decided to build a platform that facilitates passionate home cooks to sell their culinary creations to consumers who crave home-cooked meals every day. He also aimed to build healthy societies, help homemakers earn extra income, and promote sustainable infrastructure. Despite getting the idea in Germany, he realized the need for this kind of marketplace in India was much higher. Thus, he moved back to India to start his journey.
